Day after day I surf the net.  I have a twitter account, a myspace page, a facebook page, a youtube channel and so many other internet accounts that I try to log onto on a daily basis.  As a business woman, I’m often looking for like minded people to connect with on a business level.  When surfing and searching my countless social media accounts, I am often met with people who (like myself) consider themselves professionals.  They have the links to their blogs on their profiles.  They send countless messages about what they have going on in hopes that their “friends” will come out and support.  They even create alternate pages for “business” purposes.  For every person using social media to reconnect with a long lost friend, there’s a person using social media to reach out to other business professionals hoping to establish a relationship with someone and widen their reach.

Why was Social Media Manners created you ask?

Good question! Upon visiting random pages, I am often met with inappropriate photos, lewd comments and people doing and saying things on twitter, facebook and definitely myspace that does not say, “Hey, I have a business, let’s connect!”

I don’t get upset by what I see.  Instead I assume people don’t know how important it is to practice a certain level of social media etiquette.  But that’s okay!  Lucky for them, you and everyone else, I love sharing what I know with others.

Not only is Social Media Manners the place where you can find tips on how to display proper online etiquette but expect updates on Social Media innovations, discoveries and things we can do without.

If you have something you would like me to cover, let me know and I will cover it.  If I don’t know it, I will get a guest blogger.  There is nothing we can’t talk about on Social Media Manners because this is where we clear the air. When you enter the world of social media, the professional in you will shine through.
